My name is Kathy and I‘m the founder of Under a Mango Tree.

I am a stay at home Mom of three wonderful children.

I moved to Hawaii in the early 90’s.  A popular gift in Hawaii is the baby throw blanket.  There are multiple uses for such an item, and you could never have too many!   I would make blankets for my ‘mainland’ friends out of the gorgeous Hawaiian prints, and everyone just adored them.

It wasn’t long before I had many requests for these special baby and toddler gifts.

So where does the Mango Tree part come in?

Our little beach house in Hawaii had a great big yard, with a big mango tree right in the middle.

I spent many an hour, many a day under this wonderful shade tree with my children, family, and friends.   It was a peaceful place to relax and dream.  It was a soothing place to enjoy the gentle warm breezes  It will always hold a special place in my heart.

We recently moved back to the East Coast. When I am making my Hawaiian fabric crafts, it brings me back to that special feeling of being ‘Under a Mango Tree’
